Lester Tom is the Associate Principal in the Oakland office and heads YHLA's airport / transportation program. He is the YHLA project manager for the new Oakland International Airport Terminal 2 and concourse renovation and the new Terminal 2 bomb detection facility project.

He has extensive experience in project management involving complex renovation, phased construction, and tight schedules. Mr Tom's experience includes a diverse range of project types including commercial, retail, office interiors, high-end custom residential, and educational facilities. He has served as project manager for several high profile projects including the GAP Manhattan flagship store, Old Navy Chicago flagship store, and the Niebaum-Coppola Winery in Napa.

Mr. Tom is a California licensed architect since 1986. He received his Master of Architecture and Master of Science in structural engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and is certified with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
