The Chipmunk Building is one of several scattered site affordable housing projects currently under development in Kings Beach. The project resolves a challenging set of constraints including federal, state and local environmental restrictions, contextual design mandates, snow load design and topography. The project is conceived as two buildings incorporating 40 affordable apartments to meet the need for local "work-force" housing. Located on approximately 1.5 acres the complex includes 2200 sq. ft. of community and recreation space and on-grade as well as underground parking.
